This was first attempt at a new easy walk and, due to circumstances, little detail is available. In fact the track was officially closed (June 2005) due to DOC work on some structures. The notice board at the start of the track gives approximate times to reach the Kauri – the walk will be attempted again in the summer time and after checking with DOC if the track is open.
