Trip Report DundleHill 7&8 Oct

The adventure begins 10 minutes past the Waitomo Caves on our Family Farm where you venture along trails that lead you through lush native bush, unique limestone formations, caves, forestry and farmland. The hike in is incredibly rewarding and the panoramic views on arrival are hard to beat.

October 7th, returning Wednesday 8th.  We plan to also do other short walks in the area.

The cabin supplies gas, cutlery, plates, pillows.

Options to go with Raewyn’s over nighter.

There are several short walks in the Te Kuiti/Waitomo area that we could do

perhaps on the way up do the 2 to 3 hour loop track at Mangaokewa just before you get to Te Kuiti.

Ruakuri Bush Walk 1km takes about 45 minutes

Natural Land Bridge 25km from Waitomo towards the coast 20 minute walk

Piripiri Cave Walk 29kms from Waitomo 5 minutes

Marakopa Falls 31 km from Waitomo 20 minutes

Marakopa settlement a further 15 kms from the Falls just a beach walk or even toss in a line

if the Kahawai are running.
